Check out the new expansion for an even more realistic life experience.
Immerse yourself in a new life experience with The Sims 4 expansion! Customize your babies' appearances and take advantage of new personality traits for even deeper interactions
The fourth installment of the most famous real-life simulation continues its journey unabated. Although the announcement of The Sims 5 was made some time ago, it will be several years before you can play it. In the meantime, the teams at Maxis and Electronic Arts are hard at work delivering plenty of updates, kits, and expansions to delight players of the current installment. The developers have also planned to spoil the fans next March. The arrival of the DLC "Growing Together" will indeed allow the addition of a functionality expected for 8 years in addition to offering new possibilities to customize the characters. We tell you all about the new features expected from this new SIMS 4 extension.
Increased interaction possibilities
The new Social Compatibility feature will give your Sims new ways to socialize and interact with loved ones or anyone who crosses their path. When you first meet someone at a party, at work, or on the street, for example, your Sim may have a natural social alchemy with her, or hate her just as spontaneously. The Sims will also have a list of preferences which will determine those with whom they will be socially compatible and those with whom it is on the contrary very likely that they will end up rivals or enemies.
The presence in your Sim's life of people they have low regard for or get along with badly will have an impact on your health or mood. Unfortunately, due to the young audience the game is aimed at, it won't be possible to drown the stress of an unpleasant encounter in antidepressants. Players who would like to push the realism that far will have to rely on unofficial mods created by the community.
A new city by the sea
Growing together will be an opportunity for players to discover a whole new playground: The beautiful town of san sequoia. Formerly a small fishing port, the town has been transformed over time into an attractive town that has kept its picturesque side while diversifying its economy and attracting more and more families seduced by its idyllic setting. Your Sims will find there, among other things, a quiet suburb in which it is good to live, a close-knit community and centered around an influential family: the Robles, and a lively and charming town center brimming with shops and things to see and do.
Not all available activities have been revealed yet, but expect to be able to shop, eat out, walk your baby in a pushchair in the streets or driving your older children to the zoo or funfair. On gambling forums, many Internet users have expressed their desire to be able to take their Sims to the casino to play roulette or blackjack. It is true that this would have been an original release for our virtual characters, but it seems that Electronic Arts has turned a deaf ear to this wish of the players. Be aware, however, that a casino mod has been available since 2022. The latter allows you to acquire casino games such as a poker table, roulette or even slot machines. Obviously, this will not be enough for those who really want to blaze. For them, the only alternative will be to quit The Sims and rely on the Internet to discover the best French online casinos.
The appearance of the Infant life stage
Until now, in The Sims 4, infants before the age of four were seen as mere objects that were virtually impossible to interact with. Eight years after the original game was released, the Growing Together DLC will finally shake things up. THE babies will go from simple decorative objects to full residents of the home. It will now be possible to customize their appearance with unique hair, clothing and accessories. Additionally, they will have their own personality traits, which will give them a distinct identity and make them more interactive. Other Sims will now be able to interact with them by hugging them, feeding them, playing with them, or even by entrusting them to another person. With these new features, players will be able to create richer, more immersive stories for their Sims and families, involving babies more in their daily adventures. Your parental instinct will never have a better opportunity to express its full potential.
Increased inclusiveness
In "Growing Together", players will have the option to equip their Sims with medical accessories for those who are hard of hearing or diabetic. Glucose sensor patches and hearing aids are customizable in ten colors to allow players to better represent the diversity of people with these disorders. Furthermore, the update is also inclusive for transgender people. Since May 2022, players can choose their pronouns, and soon they will be able to customize their physique by choosing to wear a "binder", a bandage used to flatten the chest, or other undergarments.
Sims who have chosen to perform gender reassignment surgery will be able to add a masculinizing torsoplasty scar to match their physical appearance to their gender. With this update, The Sims 4 continues to be rooted in reality and a reflection of the diversity of society. This is important to allow players to better represent themselves in the game and feel included. This is another step in the right direction to make the franchise even more inclusive and representative.
