Bungie has officially announced the release date of Marathon, his new extraction survival shooter: the March 5, 2026 on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Cross-play and cross-platform savePre-orders are now open, accompanied by a new trailer and many details about the content of the editions offered.
An extraction shooter from Bungie
In Marathon, players take on the roles of Biocybernetic Runnerssent to explore the planet Tau Ceti IV, an abandoned and hostile colony. The objective: loot, survive, and exfiltrate, while facing:
- enemy security teams,
- other rival "Runners",
- and an environment that is as dangerous as it is unpredictable.
The game fits perfectly into the genre of...extraction shooterwith a strong emphasis on tension, ongoing risk and long-term progression.
A very ambitious narrative universe
Bungie is clearly focusing on the universe and storytelling. Marathon will offer:
- des fully localized dialogues in all available languages,
- un particularly large English voice cast, including in particular Roger clark, Ben Starr, Neil Newton, Jennifer English, Elias Toufexis, Erica Lindbeck or, Dave Fennoy.
The studio specifies that this cast will continue to grow as the game evolves, a sign of a universe designed to last.

Marathon will be offered in Standard Edition et Deluxe Edition, with evolving content over the first year.

Destiny 2 rewards and a dedicated DualSense controller
To accompany the outing:
- des Destiny 2 themed rewards are offered to all players,
- another Limited Edition Marathon DualSense Controller was also unveiled.
This controller, with its fractured design inspired by the world of gaming, will be available in limited quantities at the price of €84,99, with pre-orders since the end of January and a release timed to coincide with that of the game.
Release date and platforms
Marathon will come out March 5, 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. The game will benefit from cross-play and shared progress, an important point for a multiplayer title of this caliber.
