The Play Sorbonne Festival returns on September 28 to celebrate the culture of video games, board games, and much more!

Play Sorbonne Université, a student association at Sorbonne Université dedicated to video games and video game culture, announces the 7eedition of its free student festival entirely dedicated to world of gaming, the Play Sorbonne Festival. The event will take place on Saturday September 28 at the Pierre and Marie Curie campus of Sorbonne UniversityThis year, Play Sorbonne has raised the bar even higher and is offering an edition full of new unusual activities as well as the return of their guests of honor. : Game of Roles.

For this 7th edition, the Play Sorbonne Festival sees things in a big way! More than 10 000 participants are expected this year. For this occasion, the festival will take place in a 12 m² space. It will also welcome more independent developers and offer even more activities like tournaments. Mario Kart, TFT, Osu!, Tetr.io et Nestris. The spectrum of animations is also expanding, with the addition of art in all its forms: interactive improv theatre, live concerts of video game soundtracks (OSTs), and cosplay contests ! And finally Miss MV returns with the cast of the official season of Role Playing Games.

Le Play Sorbonne Festival brings together players, developers, publishers, associations and all the people who bring video games and board games to life. The festival is aimed at enthusiasts as well as beginners who wish to discover the full diversity of these worlds. 

In the programme : 

  • Meetings with independent developers

  • Board games, arcade machines, and video games with free access 

  • An exhibition and conferences 

  • E-sport tournaments: Ssuper Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8, TFT, Nestris, Tetr.io, Osu!

  • A Game of Roles hosted on stage by FiberTigre, with MisterMV, Lydia, Daz and Lâm  

  • Improvisational theater 

  • Live concerts of video game OSTs 

Le Play Sorbonne Festival, organized by gaming culture enthusiasts, offers an immersive experience where participants are more than spectators, they become actors through various activities throughout the day. The association also supports student creativity, as evidenced by the creation of three board games, illustrating its commitment to promoting innovation within the university community.
