SCS Software opens ETS 1.40 beta 2 to all players. This is a rundown of all the changes it makes, and the developers are already announcing that it may have some instabilities and incompatibilities with some mods. A glance at the novelties.
New lighting for better rendering
One of the most significant changes you will notice when you first get into the cab of the truck is the implementation of a new lighting system. This new rendering uses Full HDR internal components, and allows it to better adapt to changes in daylight or in various weather conditions.
To adapt to this new light, the artistic teams had to make a lot of changes to the textures and materials of the environments that make up the game, in order to benefit from a better physics (more beautiful reflections, etc.). All while keeping in mind that the game must run on mid-range GPUs, and below. We can only salute this work!
During this open beta, your feedback is extremely important and valuable to SCS Software, which is asking the community for feedback via a comment. on their forum.
Reskin from germany
This beta 1.40 also brings the last piece of the “Germany” project on which a small team of cartographers worked. For those who are new to the game, this project consists of a small mapping team dedicated to the German side, who worked to update one of the older map sections of the base game with a more realistic look. and up to date. The biggest change is the complete overhaul of all highways.
New cities for Vive la France!
With the upcoming release of the Iberia extension for Euro Truck Simulator 2, SCS Software believes that many drivers will be delighted to be gradually moving back down Europe to enter the peninsula for the first time. France being the gateway from continental Europe to Spain and Portugal, the team has developed 2 new French sites which will be part of a free update of Vive La France!
The first being the city of Bayonne, located in the southwest of France; it is the capital of the French Basque Country and an important connection for drivers traveling to Spain as it is located near the border.
The second location will be the smaller municipality of Lacq, which is located in the district of Pau. Although this small village is only a scenic road for the most part, Lacq is home to the largest refinery in France.
These two zones as well as two new connection junctions in Toulouse and Bordeaux will come as a free update of the Vive La France DLC! for ETS 2, after leaving Iberia. However, given that they are already ready, the developers thought it would be a good surprise to include them in this beta 1.40 update.
Super Stripes Paint Jobs Pack Update
The latest ETS 2 DLC is also about to be updated - two of the designs from the Super Stripes Paint Jobs pack have been extended and are now applicable to owned trailers.
