A month before its release on PC and Consoles, Construction Simulator tells us a little more about the terms of its multiplayer mode which will also be active – for the first time in the series – for consoles.
Up to 4 team members can put on their construction helmet
As a reminder, there will be two complete campaigns on two different maps (one European and one American) each with a scenario allowing you to see the city evolve as your projects are completed. For the European card, it will be a question of carrying out works of embellishment of the heritage, of helping to build the energy structures to carry out a “green” transition (methanizer, wind turbine). For the American card, it will be necessary to renovate the port area and rehabilitate tourist buildings to try to revive the economy of the city.
Throughout your career, you will be able to open access to your game to other players. You will be able to protect access with a password in order to reserve access to your friends for example. Players who join you will automatically be workers with ranks giving them more and more freedom in the game. Initially they will only be able to help you on the designated site and by driving the available equipment and in the end they will be like your assistant by being able to buy and/or rent equipment and independently carry out a site parallel to yours.
When you accept a site, there will be several levels of difficulty that will determine the number of steps but also the amount of earth to excavate or materials to bring for the step to be validated.
No Cross platform yet but Cross-Gen
Console players will finally be able to taste the joys of multiplayer with cross-gen compatibility, namely PS4 with PS5 and Xbox One with Xbox Series X|S.
Excerpts from the gameplay
IGN had the privilege of being able to play a trial version in July and the feedback from the tester underlines the very good dynamics of the career with no downtime as well as the possibility of very quickly accessing sites of a different nature so as never to get bored (it will be possible to rent the vehicles required for the work sites). Similarly, accessibility is even better than with its 2015 predecessor, in particular with the possibility of "wedging" the pallets on the trailers or flatbed truck to immediately put them in the right place without having to struggle to aim to the nearest pixel.
