Accident: a shocking game to learn first aid

Road safety is a fairly sensitive subject. In France, prevention most often involves shocking advertising campaigns broadcast on TV and playing on the emotional (violence of shocks, loss of a loved one, etc.). Duality Games, Glob Games Studio, PlayWay, and HeartBeat Games came up with the idea of making it a game, which, for once, has an even stronger impact.

Accident, this is the title of the game which could also have been called Accident Rescue Simulator, puts you in the shoes of a journalist who does research on car accidents. Thanks to his virtual reality headset, he goes back to the archives and takes you to the scene of various road accidents. Then it's your turn to play.

Pedagogy above all

And we have to admit that this simulation does things in order. Time is running out, and every operation must be carried out calmly. Stress management is essential because the scenes are shocking and violent. The developers have limited the appearance of blood, but you will find yourself facing people who may be in pain ... or dead. Each accident begins with securing the premises, as in real life, before going to take care of the victims. In conjunction with a rescue center (number call back: 112), you will provide first aid. It goes from the small wound, to the cardiac massage.

As the action unfolds, a window pops up across the top of the screen to give you valuable insight into real-life accident handling. As such, we are indeed in the presence of a simulation. At the end of the mission, you will have to play the inspectors and retrace the course of the accident via clues on the scene. You will then unlock a cutscene, again quite shocking, showing the accident itself.

Once passed, you will be entitled to a summary of the intervention and especially the history of the people saved. We will learn, for example, that "Nicolas", 9 years old, whose mother died, neck broken in the accident, will be brought up by his godfather and take 2 years to recover with shrinkage sessions. As for "Denise", 50 years old, despite the rapid intervention of the emergency services, will end up in a wheelchair. In short, strong messages, even more impactful when you have been in the shoes of the rescuer.

Accident is a real Serious game, not to be put in everyone's hands, but which has its place alongside a real PSC1 training, which we can only encourage you to follow.
