Farm Tycoon, the conversion of Farm Manager 2018 on Nintendo Switch

Good news for Switch owners, a very complete agricultural simulation is coming to the platform. And it's nothing less than FarmManager 2018, converted and re-adapted for the Nintendo portable console by the Polish studio SONKA.

Farm Manager, the game from Cleversan Software, published by Playway, goes into the hands of Studio Sonka for a conversion specific to the Switch of the 2018 version, judiciously baptized Farm Tycoon. The developers tell us about a version optimized for the portable console, even if, in truth, you will ideally have to play in "docked" mode because of the absence of touch and a rather small interface which pulls a little on eyes in portable mode. Nevertheless, the interface is fluid and all the keys of the 2 pads are used. After a few minutes, you easily find your marks and the game can begin.

For the rest, Farm Tycoon remains a heavyweight in virtual agriculture and allows you to see the key stages of a very large number of productions. For crops, for example, players start from seeds and go as far as processed products. Cereals, fruits, vegetables, cows, goats… to list would be too long, diversity is undoubtedly the strength of this management game. A term that is worth remembering because Farm Tycoon does not compete with Farming Simulator 20. The management of resources, equipment, weather, but also personnel will give you a hard time as you progress. Because if, in campaign mode, you start with 3 employees, a small plot, and 4 cows, you will have to be patient and work by hand before the first tools and tractors arrive on the farm.

Despite its age – let’s remember that Farm Manager 2021 is already available – this port of the 2018 version has kept its charm, quite honorable graphics, a relaxing soundtrack, progressive gameplay… and a razor-sharp price for the game. Nintendo console: €17,99 in dematerialized version on the Mario store.
