Farmcon 23 is over. Giants Software, which had given us an appointment at the Deutz Fahr Arena in Germany, chained announcements for a day and a half, this Saturday July 1 and Sunday July 2.
There was a queue at the entrance to the Deutz Fahr Arena on July 1. The Farmcon welcomed, visibly, nearly 400 players, modders, and other curious people who came to fish for information on the upcoming content of Farming Simulator, announced between 2 presentations on the company Giants Software, on agriculture in general or the presentation of the latest Deutz Series 6185 TTV (which is also available on the modhub)
10 am, it starts. The first speech of the leaders of Giants Software made it possible to trace the 15 years of the game. Would we need to justify the evolutions from one opus to another? No, above all to start on a good basis before lifting the veil on thepremium extension, coming for November 14. A presentation of about twenty minutes (which you can find in our video recap here) to visit Zielonka, the Polish DLC map. Points of interest, production lines, and new cultures, the developers did not hesitate to go around, showing a map already well done despite the stamp "Work in progress".
Shortly after this presentation, it was the turn of the equipment to show itself, this time timidly. We were able to get a glimpse of the “Carrot” gameplay. Tools already shown in the presentation trailer, but this time in full action… well almost since the implantation of the carrots did not seem functional. Hilling work, on the other hand, was. As well as harvesting using the DeWulf monorow, which you will have to unload in wooden boxes.
When asked about the use of carrots and other new crops, you will have to have the Premium DLC to use them on other maps. Moreover, the new crops will only be usable in the production chain or for sale. No question of integrating them into the rations of your animals. This terribly limits the gameplay on these new vegetables.
Giants reheat an old stale dish
When announcing the Premium edition of Farming Simulator 22, Giants surprised by the announcement of 6 maps, when there were 5. What was this 6ᵉ unknown? We were expecting an announcement at Farmcon, and it was. First released on Farming Simulator 17 and then on 19, it's the Horsch builder who is making a comeback with great fanfare. The AgroVation pack, initially created by VertexDezign (for the map) and Giants (for the hardware), comes back brand new in edition 22.
This is a remastered map (if not a new one… after all, Michael Horsch's real technical farm only covers 6000 ha!). As for the equipment, the Horsch Agrovation farm being a place of development for the brand's new tools, they will be unpublished.
We do not yet have the price of this pack at the time of this writing, but know that the Horsch AgroVation pack corresponds to the "Bonus Pack" of Season Pass 2.
Creative Mesh surprises everyone
A few days before Farmcon, Creative Mesh posted an image of 3 grouped straw bales on its social networks, recalling some situations from the Straw Harvest mod, available for Farming Simulator 19 and whose return was eagerly awaited by the community.
The Farmcon announced the presentation of a content "Third Party", implied not created by Giants Software. While everyone was waiting for the return of the famous straw harvesting module, it was finally an Emergency Pack that was unveiled and made available in beta version almost immediately on the modhub (PC only for the moment).
If the idea is rather flawed given the stability of the mod, this new pack has received a more than mixed opinion. And for good reason, it offers players to put you in the shoes of a firefighter and his truck, and to carry out rescue missions. Extinction of a fire of garbage, straw, securing the scene of a car accident before evacuation of the injured driver, we are far from the original theme of the game: agriculture. Small consolation, theEmergency pack is available free of charge. Note that this pack is scalable. Cat rescue missions in the trees or securing places after storms have already been announced. Modders can also create their own missions.
The FSL punctuated the WE
Farmcon 23 was also an opportunity for FSL teams to compete and close Season 4 of the Farming Simulator League. The main stage was also reserved for agricultural esports this Sunday. In the end, it was the HELM team (former members of Trelleborg) who took the top step of the podium, beating the Valtra team in the final..
