Farming Simulator 25 is coming this November 12, 2024 on PC/Mac, PS5 and Xbox Series. The Giants Software title will continue to support mods. It has been like this for more than 15 years, it is not going to change overnight. Creating Simulagri Modding (FS 19)then Simu Modding Universe (FS22), my ambition was to bring French equipment to the gaming community. I am proud to have offered my mods in the form of a “builder’s pack”. A formula used by many of my fellow modders. The formula was popular… but there is “but”. The packs are heavy because they sometimes include a significant number of machines and tools. Console players are directly impacted by this burden since the PS5 and Xbox Series have limitations to respect (the famous SLOTS) that PC players do not have.
Today I wonder about the relevance of these packs. For fans of a brand, having all the materials at hand is a nice plus. For the modder, it's more complicated to manage. Especially when switching from one game version to a new one. Moving from Farming Simulator 19 to 22, I was just getting started, and the transition was quick. But for the transition from 22 to 25, there are nearly a hundred mods to convert/improve. That represents time… A lot of time. I'm not a patient person. And you… are you?
I ask you the question today. Should I wait to release the packs one by one, or should I release the materials individually (in this case, we will do another survey to find out your priorities)? The floor is given to you. You can participate in this survey until the end of August. We'll take stock again at the start of the school year.
[THE SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION]
Thank you for participating in this survey. Very short, but necessary. Perhaps it allows you to understand the problem also imposed on Giants Software when they have to reintegrate the materials version after version.
To support us, don't forget the code SIMULAGRI for your game orders on the official website. Farming Simualtor 25 is also on sale in Steam PC version at Gamesplanet (-15%) with this same code.
do not hesitate to review/read the recap of the announcements from this Tuesday, June 25 to find out everything about what's new in FS 25 (release date, platforms, gameplay, etc.).
So, in reality, I don't really care and I'm not particularly in a hurry to have this or that mod. Waiting for a complete pack is no problem for me. Do the best for you.
On the other hand, I'm always a little confused with mod packs, because often I only use one or 2 machines in them, as Benoit also stipulates. It loads the store for nothing (I play on PC, so no question of slots here, the inconvenience is therefore much less minimal for me).
I am rather against packs.
I will take the Perard pack as an example, in my different parts, I only use one spreader for the entire pack. Having to take a complete pack to use only one piece of equipment means using a lot of slots for “nothing”.
For now, I'm still going to contradict myself a little 😅, I admit I have quite a few retail mods that I don't use either 😬.
I think the happy medium would be to make packs either according to categories or according to the required tractor powers (small tractor equipment pack, medium tractor equipment pack, large tractor equipment pack). This would allow you to make your choice based on the appropriate equipment for a map.
In any case your mods are absolutely fabulous, I use them as much on the 19 as on the 22. It will be the same for the 25 whatever you decide to do 😁
