Giants Software doesn't want to go wrong, and a month away from the release of Farming Simulator 22, the developers are taking into account the community's initial remarks regarding the general aesthetics, seasons, and cultivation of sorghum.
Three last minute adjustments. Following the community's grudge on certain points after the broadcast of the different let's play on FS 22, Giants Software has put its hands in the grease so as not to make a false start.
The cycle of the seasons
This first change is minor on paper, but one that will relieve a large number of players. The 4 seasons had been announced over 12 days. A day representing a month. Giants wanted a fixed duration, where the Seasons mod of Realismus Modding allows, on FS 17 and 19, to choose the duration. We all know that a change during the game brought random results and often bugs. It is probably for this reason that the developers had left on the fixed value of 12 days for a full year in game. It was not really a problem, since the speed of time is adjustable, allowing to play a season. over 3 real days (3 x 24h). But it seemed to upset more than one. Also Giants Software will re-propose a variable season approach, with months of 28 days maximum. You can almost play, 2-3 days depending on the month, with real seasonality.
Note that a change of duration remains possible. If during the game, especially to get through the winter faster, you want to switch back to 3 days for a season, it is possible. The modification is taken into account at the change of season (transition from summer to autumn for example).
Improved graphics
This had already been announced, and Giants Software is taking advantage ofa post on their blog to hammer it again. The graphics of the let's play broadcast during Gamescom are not final. “We have improved the level of detail of the foliage to ensure better transitions between colors. We also refined Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) to create more natural shadows and surroundings. " The range of colors has also been revised, probably to be a little less vivid.
Harvesting sorghum
Sorghum is one of the eagerly awaited new crops in Farming Simulator 22. Producers noticed during the first presentations of the game, that the harvest was unrealistic, with a shot too close to the ground. Giants Software has corrected the shooting. Now only the head of the plant will be harvested.
