April's mod creator awards are finally here. 3 vehicles and 2 maps were rewarded. This month, the machines on offer are interesting and keep the spirit of the game in terms of handling.
We open the ball with the RNG Zentos, a 6-wheel drive with a fairly mid-length chassis which does not have the best turning radius, but which, on the other hand, has excellent traction. On the options side, we are in the best of mods. Very complete, the vehicle has almost the entire catalog of chassis modules, whether in the possibility of transport or repair.
And the same can be said of the second award-winning mod, the pack Mustang RSK, which uses the same list of options (and even a little longer in terms of engine configurations) but on a 4-wheel drive machine. Its lightness makes it versatile, as much on exploration missions as on small transports.
Whether it is the Mustang pack or the RNG Zentos, both models benefit from tricolor paints and an excellent general design.
For the 3rd vehicle, in the Unique category, the developers have chosen to reward theAPC 6 × 6 Rhinoc. And we quickly understand why. This 6-wheel-drive military machine doesn't necessarily have a ton of options ... but it does have one that makes all the difference (see the illustration image of the article): a blade at the front that allows to clear a path in the snow or in the forest. Concretely, the vehicle is not very pleasant to handle. It lacks power (or the box is not well staged), and it does not stick in a pocket square. Worse, it does not have a chassis module allowing it to be assigned a real use (scout or transport). In short, to test for fun, but we will quickly come back to the 2 mods presented just before.
Regarding the maps, 2 were retained: A, a classic and well-made snow map, and weather station 34, also classic but which offers panoramas on well-raised mountains rather nice.
