The concept: transform the base map into a playground
If you've ever driven in Euro Truck Simulator 2, you've probably had this thought:
“Why is this city here if I can’t deliver anything there?”
These so-called decorative cities, present solely to visually enrich the map, represent a huge reserve of untapped potential. This is what modder MyGodness understood and decided to activate.
His project, More European Cities, proposes a simple but brilliant idea:
Bringing these forgotten cities to life, making them playable without touching the official map.
Edition 1: Switzerland, or how it all began
The first mod in the series, available for free, tackled a compact but dense country: Switzerland.
- 34 decorative cities activated, in addition to the 3 existing ones.
- Added delivery points and functional businesses.
- No map changes, only logical gameplay adjustments.
- Compatible with SCS base board.
This mod immediately found its audience: those who wanted more content, more immersion, without technical complexity.
Edition 2: Greece takes the stage
Building on its success in Switzerland, MyGodness is moving on to Greece, a region where mountainous roads and Mediterranean landscapes promise superb deliveries... but where active cities are rare. This time, 55 Greek cities, previously purely decorative, are now:
- interactive,
- deliverables,
- logically connected to the existing network.

More European Cities does not revolutionize ETS2 graphically, nor by a spectacular addition of content.
It does better: it optimizes what already exists, unlocks content that is already there but forgotten.
Disclaimer: compatibility and precautions for use
More European Cities is designed to work exclusively with the official SCS Software base map (and its DLCs).
❌ Incompatible with map mods like Promods, RoExtended, or other reconstructions.
✅ Compatible with official DLCs (Italy, Greece, etc.) if you have the corresponding edition.
Why? Because this mod uses the original cities and roads, intelligently enabled, without modifying them. If you add map mods that replace or move these areas, this can result in:
- delivery point conflicts
- duplicate cities
- crashes or visual bugs
