Mini PCs are all the rage, and the NiPoGi E2, equipped with the processor Intel N150, positions itself as an affordable and compact option for office and multimedia uses. We were able to test it in real conditions, particularly in streaming, and here is our detailed feedback on its performance, its quality/price ratio and its potential uses.
Design and connectivity: an ultra-compact format
Le NiPoGi E2 has a sober and minimalist design, with a black plastic casing with reduced dimensions, which allows it to be easily integrated into a desk or behind a screen thanks to its VESA compatibility.
In terms of connectivity, it offers:
- 1 port HDMI and 1 port DisplayPort, allowing dual screen management,
- 4 ports USB-A (including 2 in USB 3.0),
- 1 power port only,
- 1 port RJ45 Ethernet for a stable network connection,
- A take jack 3,5 mm for headphones or speakers.
Decent connectivity for a mini PC, although thelack of USB-C multifunction may be unfortunate for some users.
Performance: a surprising Intel N150
Under the hood, the NiPoGi E2 embeds a processor Intel N150 (12th generation), a low-power CPU (6W) designed for light tasks. Combined with 16 GB DDR4 RAM and a 256 GB to 1 TB SSD (in S-ATA on the other hand, i.e. 600 MB/s maximum measured), this mini PC is fluid in office use and web browsing, but not only.
In our tests, 1080p streaming and 4K video playback were no problem. For more demanding tasks, such as video editing or gaming, it quickly reaches its limits due to the lack of a dedicated graphics card. But it remains largely usable for moderate use of Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and even 3DSMAX (see the test video). For older games, like ETS 2 launched in 2013, or F1 2014, the 30 fps mark is exceeded, but don't think about launching games of the latest Delta Force.
Fortunately, services like Geforce Now can turn this mini-PC into a war machine, with some limitations however (no steering wheel support, need to have a solid internet connection, etc.)
In terms of heat dissipation, it remains silent and heats only moderately, even after several hours of use, the top of the case (all plastic) becomes just warm.
Software and Compatibility
Le NiPoGi E2 comes with Windows 11 Pro, which allows immediate installation without the need for additional licensing. It is also compatible with Linux for those who wish to use it as a server or a small development station.
His taking charge of the Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2 provides wireless connectivity. In 5 GHz, we reach a little more than 20 MB/s on the wifi network, sufficient for office use and web browsing.
Who should buy this mini PC?
Le NiPoGi E2 is mainly aimed at users looking for a Office PC compact, energy-efficient and quiet. It is ideal for:
- Students and professionals needing a second PC for note taking, word processing and online work.
- Multimedia use, like a video streaming center for Netflix, YouTube or Plex… Especially since the VESA support is provided and allows the mini PC to be placed on the back of a screen.
- A mini home server, for network storage or a small web server.
An excellent quality / price ratio
Le NiPoGi E2 is a nice surprise for its price. Its processor Intel N150, although modest, proves to be effective for basic and office uses. Savings are made on the connectivity (no USB-C), all-plastic materials, DDR-4 RAM (while the N150 supports DDR5), or even the hard drive (in S-ATA). The config is negotiated around €200 on Amazon.
