NVIDIA at GDC: unsurprisingly, DLSS and Ray Tracing on the program

The annual game developers conference (GDC) has just started, and NVIDIA has announced in preview the new features linked to RTX technology. These include several exciting new integrations of RTX technology, including:

  • Black Myth: Wukong and NARAKA: BLADEPOINT integrate Full Ray Tracing and NVIDIA DLSS 3.5.
  • Star Wars™ Outlaws will be launched later this year with DLSS 3 and raytracing effects.
  • Portal with RTX, the fully ray traced remix of Valve's classic game, is updated to DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction and RTX IO. It's available now, for free.
  • Diablo IV will benefit from a ray tracing update on March 26.
  • The First Berserker: Khazan, Sengoku Destiny et Outcast – A New Beginning join the list of 500+ RTX games and apps.
  • DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction will soon be available in the NVIDIA RTX Remix open beta.

Black Myth: Wukong and NARAKA: BLADEPOINT benefit from DLSS 3.5 updates

At GDC, NVIDIA announced that two new titles will benefit from increased image quality and performance thanks to DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction technology and full ray tracing, to offer GeForce gamers a complete experience. The much awaited Black Myth: Wukong will launch on August 20. NARAKA: BLADEPOINT will soon add Full Ray Tracing to three zones accessible in PVP and PVE modes, and other zones will receive improvements over time.

Star Wars™ Outlaws will launch with NVIDIA DLSS 3, Ray Tracing and Reflex

NVIDIA has partnered with Ubisoft and Lucasfilm Games to bring gamers Star Wars™ Outlaws a definitive PC experience, leveraging the game-changing technologies of GeForce RTX GPUs to improve graphics, accelerate performance and make gameplay even more responsive.

Discover the very first game Star Wars ™ in an open world, set between the events of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back et Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, which will arrive later this year, enhanced by NVIDIA DLSS 3, Ray Tracing and Reflex. It will also be available in the cloud on GeForce NOW.

Portal with RTX, DLSS 3.5 and RTX IO update available now

Portal with RTX was the first game made with NVIDIA RTX Remix, a modding tool that allows modders to update and remaster classic games. Portal with RTX reimagines Valve's timeless classic using full ray tracing, also known as path tracing, to accurately model the properties of light in the real world.

At launch, Portal with RTX was equipped with NVIDIA DLSS 3 with Frame Generation and Super Resolution.

Today, Portal with RTX upgrades to NVIDIA DLSS 3.5, leveraging its AI-based ray reconstruction technology to improve ray tracing fidelity and responsiveness of dynamic lighting effects. Thanks to NVIDIA DLSS 3.5, frame rates on the GeForce RTX 4090 are increased by 6,2x and on the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, gamers experience a 6,7x increase, allowing for more gaming of 100 and 70 frames per second, respectively.

At 2560x1440, a 4,7X performance multiplier allows owners of the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, 4070 Ti SUPER, 4080, 4080 SUPER and 4090 to run everything at full throttle and game at over 80 FPS, and up to 'at 160 FPS on the GeForce RTX 4090.

And at 1920x1080, a 3,6x performance multiplier allows owners of virtually any GeForce RTX 40 series graphics card to game at over 70 FPS, with frame rates that increase rapidly as they go. as you move up the range, up to 210 FPS on the GeForce RTX 4090.

NVIDIA RTX IO debuted with free gaming Portal: Prelude RTX NVIDIA RTX Remix, and is now available in Portal with RTX. NVIDIA RTX IO enables fast GPU-based loading and decompression of game assets, massively accelerating IO performance compared to traditional hard drives and storage APIs. NVIDIA RTX IO leverages GPU decompression for smaller data packets, which accelerates texture loading and reduces CPU usage, and allows developers to create a new generation of games with massive, highly detailed worlds. With NVIDIA RTX IO, texture loading times are reduced by up to 5x and hard drive footprint by Portal with RTX is reduced by 37%.

The NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 and RTX IO update Portal with RTX is available on Steam now, free for all Portal owners.

Diablo IV Ray Tracing Update Coming March 26

Diablo IV will get an image quality improvement on March 26 with the addition of a pair of ray-traced effects. Armor, water, windows, and other reflective surfaces will now have accurate, realistic reflections, as well as transparent reflections. The many shadows of Diablo IV will be enhanced using ray tracing, which will add additional detail to all scenes.

Since the game launched in June 2023, GeForce RTX gamers have accelerated performance by an average of 2,5x at 4K in Diablo IV, thanks to the inclusion of DLSS 3. And with NVIDIA Reflex, system latency has been reduced by up to 67%, for the most responsive gameplay possible.
