A major update, the spring update 2021, of BeamNG.drive landed last week. Not to change the recipe, this update brings its share of vehicles and improvements. Overview.
Let's start with "Eagerly awaited and legendary" Wendover. Produced from 1987 to 1995 by fictional automaker "Bruckell" under the Soliad brand, the Wendover is the epitome of late 1980s technology and styling. The relatively large and elongated body accommodates a powerful transverse V8 engine. But the 4-cylinder engines of the "LeGran" can also be installed, and all available engines can be supercharged, in order to explode into a wall even faster.
In use, this racing car is stable, with a reactive suspension. The most powerful models remain controllable at good speed. On the design side, the full range is out: reinforced, classic, police, rally, hill climb, but also, more original, a K2000 version with the LED bar on the lower part of the hood. Of the nicest effect !
A pedestrian mode is rare in a car simulation!
This is unusual for a simulation of this caliber, but the update 0.22 adds a pedestrian mode. This allows you to get out of your vehicle and interact with a few elements (doors, trunk, etc.). It must be admitted that it is really more practical to switch from one vehicle to another. The car spawn takes place in front of you when you are on foot.
Regarding the gameplay, it remains unchanged, but we can note the addition of Vehicle Pooling for traffic. Once the feature is activated, the variety of vehicles you encounter will be much greater. We have noticed a significant drop in performance during use. Note that this is still a work in progress.
Finally and to finish with the novelties of this update 0.22, the Bruckell Legran has been remastered with new variants and above all a completely redone 3D model.
