Suedhemmern, or Südhemmern, under these 2 names, the same map. And what a map! The oldest certainly know her, since the modder, GMCW, strives to provide it to us since… FS 13!
The wrinkles are starting to show
The map itself is particularly complete. Meadows, enclosures, buildings on every street corner, we never find ourselves without decorative elements in front of our eyes, it's impressive. Like any conversion, and especially a map dating from December 2013, some elements have aged (very) badly. The buildings, animation, textures, are period and you can feel it. In 2019, we inevitably expect better. Graphically, this card shows its great age. You have been warned.
Apart from this purely aesthetic aspect, everything is functional: the doors open and close, the mission system is present, the points of sale are full. Only a few collision concerns are to be deplored. The modder was even a forerunner on certain points, notably with a stable equipped with a good twenty boxes. Too bad the horses do not fit in.
In terms of layout, a majority of buildings are grouped together in the center. The plots, rather rectangular, are on the outskirts. The locations for the animals are already defined but you are free to add more with the new enclosures in Farming Simulator 19.
The carrots are done, I repeat, the carrots are done
But the big “novelty” of this map is these 2 new crops: carrots and onions! Do not jump too quickly to the ceiling, because if the bulbs and tubers are well represented, their harvest is not done with the right tools. The modder provides 2 modified vehicles, on a Grimme Varitron base for the potato harvest, in order to uproot carrots and onions from the ground. The textures representing these 2 new cultures are not very "sexy". Either way, in real life, onions and carrots are not harvested with potato equipment, and both must have specific conveyors. The Grimme Varitron are capable of this, but the models presented here are not equipped with it.
