Ubisoft returns to the Valve platform, after having abandoned it these major titles since 2019. Thus, the site TheVerge tells us that Anno 1800 (2019 title that had been removed), Roller Champions and the last Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be back. The latter already has its file with a publication date of December 6, 2022.
Just a rumor a few weeks ago, this was information eagerly awaited by players, especially on Steam Deck, since Ubisoft games can be launched directly via the launcher, natively, on the "Laptop PC" of Valve. Even if Ubisoft has indicated that it has nothing planned regarding the support of games on this platform. But we have no illusions, Proton updates are almost weekly and more and more titles are launching without a hitch.
It is currently unclear if all Ubisoft games will be integrated into the Steam catalog or if this will be done on a case-by-case basis. There are, beyond the satisfaction of the players mentioned by the spokesperson for Ubisoft, Jessica Roache, to The Verge, obviously pecuniary reasons which make the publisher adapt its sales strategy according to the games.
