While waiting for its biggest update (called “ Next stop“) since the birth of the game scheduled for May 16 and which will include the first free expansion of the “Angel Shores” map. The developers of Still Alive tell us the outlines of a brand new game mode that will appear: the career mode.
Always listening to the community who felt that a game mode was needed that could be between the campaign (excellent but achievable only once) and the sandbox mode (no financial constraints), Bus Simulator will have A career mode.
Career Mode Explained
The goal of Career Mode is to run your people-carrying business with economic constraints, similar to Campaign Mode. However, in this mode everything will be unlocked from the start without having any missions, story, or quests to unlock them. The only limited resource will be money. Career mode will have a more realistic route planning model and a new way to calculate your earnings.
At first, you will only have enough money for one bus and some extra money for small expenses (such as fines). Then, it will be up to you to make your own development choices: Where and how to start? Which bus to take first? What are the routes that bring in the most money quickly?
An equivalent of a very difficult mode?
Not especially, this mode will not be easier or more difficult than the others, it aims to focus on the economy in order to put you in the shoes of a manager and to confront you with choices. The economic engine has therefore been revised to offer a greater challenge. The following settings will be even more important now:
- The length of your routes
- Balancing routes according to demand and taking peak hours into account
- Better driving on each route to get more stars and better revenue multiplier
- The right choice of model, manufacturer and motorization of the bus

The window showing your income will benefit from a complete makeover with more information on the data that influences the final amount. Information about your balance, income and expenses, salaries, expenses, and other items relating to your business assets is crucial for successful planning. They should be as transparent as possible, which was the main goal of this change. Take a look at the updated paydays screen:
The most notable additions relate to ticket sales, accidents and insurance. Likewise, there will be a clearer distinction between your contribution and that of your drivers.
