Le CREPS of Poitiers is a public establishment, trainer of high level athletes. It welcomes different sports disciplines: tennis. athletics, basketball, cycling, adapted sport… and is now involved in ESPORT.
Alain Claeys, President of Grand Poitiers, Patrice Béhague, Director of CREPS in Poitiers, Angelo d'Ambrosio, CEO of ACER France and Ferréol Chevalier, CEO of NEEDforSEAT, inaugurate the CREPS esport training center in Poitiers. On this occasion. they signed a partnership agreement for the equipment of the training center.
Physical and mental training, the CREPS of Poitiers offers training courses for sports teams, with the same methods as for athletes. These courses are supervised by high-level professionals, among them Sylvain NOUET, assistant coach of the French men's handball team from 2001 to 2014.
ACER and MAXNOMIC: esport partners of CREPS de Poitiers
The esport hall of the CREPS in Poitiers is equipped by two giants of the sector: ACER and MAXNOMIC. For more than 10 years, ACER has devoted all its expertise and mastery to the design of high-end PCs. It is a major player in the esport-oriented gaming sector through its complete Predator range which consists of PCs, laptops, screens, video projectors and accessories specially developed and designed for gamers.
GAMEWARD: the 1re team to train at CREPS in Poitiers
From April 15 to 19, Gameward's Overwatch team is the first esport team to train at CREPS in Poitiers, before participating in the Gamers Assembly. Gameward was founded in February 2018 and has 17 players, coaches and contract managers divided into 3 teams: League of Legends, Fortnite, and Overwatch.
The Overwatch team notably finished 13e of the 2019 Open Division season, European circuit, and 3e of the EGE Cup.
