The question became public not long ago. Should the next Farming Simulator come out on the older generation of consoles or just focus on the new one?
The question is relevant, at a time when it is almost impossible to get a PS5 or an Xbox Series S / X (we are not talking here about sellers who make 100% of the margin and sell models for more than 1000 euros). For PCs, the problem is also similar with regard to the latest graphics cards. The choice, for Giants Software, to port FS 21 on the old gen would be a proof of common sense, financially speaking. But for loyal gamers, the graphical evolution would be so minor that releasing a new game on platforms that saw the light of day in 2013 is a dangerous solution.
PCs are not really affected since the graphics options are fully configurable. We can therefore imagine a new version Farming Simulator capable of taking advantage of the latest equipment, while retaining the possibility of reducing the settings to let breathe a configuration that is no longer up to date.
