After testing the waters in 2018 with a first season for the Farming Simulator Championship, Giants Software is throwing itself body and soul into the world of eSports with a season two.
Major changes are on the program, starting with the title: Esport Farming becomes a full-fledged electronic sports league with 10 tournaments across Europe: the Farming Simulator League. At the end of the season, the best teams will compete for the title of Farming Simulator champion and the modest sum of 100.000 € in prizes. At each tournament, the competitors will have points but also (big) prizes, which brings the total amount of this second season to € 250.000! Gast!
Giants Software announces partnerships with Logitech G, Intel, and Nitrado, to complete this project. “We have a unique opportunity,” says Christian Ammann, CEO of GIANTS Software and head of the eSports division. “Agricultural competition has been a popular sport for years, but it has not yet been done electronically. [Editor's note: False, the Farming competition has existed for a long time, but on a small scale]. Our company has many esports enthusiasts who are eager to show the world that farming can indeed be fun and competitive. "
The championship itself is evolving. In particular, we will move from the already well-known ball stacking mode to a 3-on-3 competitive mode, in which the teams will compete on real jobs, such as harvesting. The developer will communicate in more detail about this new game mode in the near future.
