It's the kick-off for Fishing North Atlantic's first DLC. An almost surprise extension since the presentation video was only unveiled a week before the actual release of the Scallops Expansion on Steam, PlayStation and Microsoft Store. As its name suggests, it will now be possible for you to dredge the scallop shell aboard a new fleet.
Nova Scotia waters, which you are used to sailing on Fishing North Atlantic, will display a new species to fish. In addition to its bluefin tuna, lobsters and swordfish, your map and your radards will direct you to scallops. The Steam sheet also announces that the North Atlantic “is home to one of the most important scallop fishing industries in the world. As a good Breton, I would have thought that the bay of Saint-Brieuc was in front of Scotland or Norway. In terms of volumes perhaps, but let's remain chauvinistic, not for the taste 🙂
From a gameplay point of view, the Scallops DLC brings some new features such as the handling of cranes to prepare, tow, and empty dredges. You will also need to sort and clean a few shells before storing the nuts in the ship's hold. Then it's classic, head to the port to sell your catch.
Fishing North Atlantic sees 3 new boats available, from small shellfish to large scallop fishing vessel, stamped with the game's new American partner: Fleet Fisheries.
