Giants Software divorces Focus for upcoming Farming Simulator

Focus Home Interactive has published its annual results for 2019-2020, closed on March 30. If all the lights are green for the publisher on the finance side, the report announces very bad news, Giants Software has decided to self-publish.

Good news hides bad news. Focus Home Interactive, the main publisher of Farming Simulator, has just announced the acquisition of a development studio, its first, which is none other than Deck13, the German developers of "The Surge 2". We can only rejoice at this purchase by the French publisher. But this announcement is marred by the loss of the goose that lays the golden eggs: Farming Simulator. Giants Software indeed announced to Focus in early June its intention to self-publish for the next installment, allowing the developer to save some money. Focus will continue to be in charge of the distribution of the current version.

We already knew the studio's ambition to do everything alone. The heavy hurdle of publishing will therefore be crossed and we could only foresee it with the opening of an office in Chicago solely for administrative purposes. Let us recall however the important role that Focus has played in the development and commercial success of the franchise since Farming Simulator 2013 in particular, and its aggressive management of competition during the publication of Pure Farming 2018.

  1. Classes available every day from Nine AM to Twelve midday.
Exact. the next opus should develop irrigation. On the other hand, for breeding, when will there be cows or sheep in meadows? ^^

  2. For farming XX to become the best farming game of all time, they have to go through this.
No more pressure from the publisher to release it as quickly as possible.
I think that giant has several obligations for its next title,
    1 optimization….proof that fs19 was released too early…
2 irrigation, in agriculture it's just obligatory, it should have been there a long time ago...
3 dynamic terrain like snow runner, cattle and crops…
4 review breeding, frankly currently it just serves to use machines that concern breeding…
5 lots of stuff that exists in mod and which should be vanilla, season, manure system, manual attach, REA, ect ect ……

    1. If you play with the season mods the animals serve a purpose. Sheep don't produce wool all year round, you have meat cows and milk cows. The same pigs you buy weigh around twenty kilos. Finally for my part the season mod is an essential mod for more realism and should be integrated into the game itself

      1. Half agree the animals are better especially since I tinkered with saison so that the meat breeds finally reproduce (and sell the males as calves or oxen) but saison is only a mod and has a lot of "limits" even if we have to admit that the team has done a crazy job.
Already the texture of the snow, it should be more like that of chopped straw in a bunker, the horses totally need to be reviewed, and the other animals must have their young version (calves, lambs, chicks, etc.), in short for even if it is MUCH BETTER, there are things that only giant can provide, but as I said in my first post, breeding only comes after dynamic terrain and ESPECIALLY irrigation ^^
