To talk about Kuhn in Farming Simulator is to go back 10 years. If the brand was timidly integrated into FS 11 via mods, we will especially remember the release of a totally dedicated DLC, the Kuhn Equipment Pack, on FS 17, which firmly anchors the company in the minds of players. Here is a reminder of the basic integrated hardware in the different versions of the game.
Kuhn's real arrival on Farming Simulator came with the 2013 version of the game, with equipment that stood out, including the self-propelled SPV Confort silage cutter, and a range of mowing and haying grass. For players orienting their game towards cattle breeding, Kuhn equipment becomes a must-have.
On this version of the game, we find the PZ 280 F and PZ 960 mowers allowing mowing over 9m wide, the Primor 3570 straw blower, the Profile 1880 mixer, the SPV Confort 12 silage cutter, the GF 17002 wide tedder, the rakes GA 4521 and 8521.
A different choice on Farming Simulator 15
On this new version, Kuhn's offer is more consistent. Exit the Profile mixer, to give free rein to the SPV Confort. The mowers are replaced by a more recent range, the FS 3525 F and FC 10030 allowing mowing over a width of 10m. Tedder and rake now work (almost) together on the working width: a GF 6502 tedder and a GA 8521 rake. We are far from the large gap between the old 17m tedder and the rakes up to 8,5m. Little news, the Varimaster 4 mounted 153-shank reversible plow is appearing in stores.
The models remain almost identical from Farming Simulator 2013 to 15. The Giants Engine, with its new lighting, takes care of giving a more real aspect to the colors of the materials.
Farming Simulator 17: the pinnacle!
For FS 17, we can really say that Kuhn was THE strong brand. Overall, this opus has seen countless new materials. Kuhn was not the most represented when the game came out. 4 basic materials! The Vari Master 153 plow which is making a comeback, the GA 9531 swather which replaces the 8521, a new version of the Primor 15070 straw blower, and finally, the new Cultimer L 300 stubble cultivator.
We now know that this meager appetizer was in fact purely strategic since, behind the scenes, a huge “KUHN Equipment” pack was in development. And what a DLC! 18 equipment, even more tools for working the soil, seeders, sprayers, fertilizer spreaders, presses, wrapping, and above all, the possibility of finally doing "direct seeding" (at least to work the soil and sow in one pass). The KUHN brand has definitely entered a new dimension.
The DLC is still sold for € 14,99 on the official Giants Software website and contains all this beautiful world.
And for Farming Simulator 19…
