We go on the meadow mowing and wheat harvest missions to discover again and again the mechanics of the game of John Deere. And it is not very happy.
Mowing to begin with. The game leads us to a rather large plot compared to the small semi-mounted mower with which the work has to be done. Never mind, the mowing area is overflowing copiously from the implement - easily 1 on each side - and mowing is done faster than expected under a cloud of dust. Note that the grass is placed on the ground. As a reminder, FS 2008 did not offer this type of mission.
The harvest then. Change of mood, the mission takes place in an autumnal setting with dead leaves on the ground… represented by kinds of tasks. The effect is ugly, we won't stop to look at the scenery. The proposed harvester is already full. The hopper overflows when the harvest has not started. In fact there is no hopper management, and you won't have to empty into a trailer. On this point, FS 2008 was doing better since the cycle was complete, until the harvest was sold. As for the physics of the vehicle, it is catastrophic. The field to be harvested was bordered by a moat. If by misfortune a wheel of the harvester comes to be put in it, the machine goes in all directions, and it is very difficult to put it back in place.
In conclusion, these 2 missions are for the moment the worst that we have seen since the first videos Retro that we do on this game. Hoping that the next ones raise the level.
