Le Anderson DLC is finally here, and with it no less than 13 equipment from the group. Focused on forage and forestry, does this pack keep its promises in the face of an increasingly demanding community of players?
Unexpected. It all happened so fast. Return of the Sima just 1 month ago, where the manufacturer Anderson timidly announced that it "Was going to be in Farming Simulator", without being able to tell us in what form. And a few days after the news falls, it's a DLC. And who says DLC, says material in number. For this pack, the manufacturer is spreading its range there: mixers, trailers, baler, straw blower, wrappers. Rarely has an extension been so complete.
Mixers, straw blowers and trailers do not revolutionize the genre
Breeding in Farming Simulator has never really been spoiled. The 2 mixers and the straw blower present make it possible to maintain a small herd without any problem, but what about when the herd becomes really large? The comings and goings at the trough of the animals quickly become annoying, the fault of the small capacities of the original materials. The Anderson pack, if it does not revolutionize the way of working, nevertheless brings 2 large capacity mixers (double the SiloKing), avoiding the incessant back and forth to feed your animals. A straw blower capable of ingesting 2 bales is also welcome. Work comfort that we never tire of.
The forestry trailer with grapple, the M160, has the same capacity as the Stepa already present, but does not have a telescopic arm. Its price is accordingly since it is displayed 3 times cheaper. For an initial investment in forestry work, it is an argument of choice. As for the bale gathering trays, already present under other brands in Farming Simulator, Anderson displays, like the mixers, greater loading capacities than the competition. The operating principle remains unchanged, we move forward, we catch, we charge… we unload.
New gameplay possibilities
But the strength of the Anderson DLC, well beyond the hardware, are the new possibilities offered to players to manage grass silage and poplars. Everything goes through machines of a new kind. For poplars, it is now possible to harvest with a combined crusher-baler. A protective blade is also part of the equipment, it is to be mounted at the front of the tractor to lay the poplars on the ground. The press goes over the trees, tears them to pieces and squeezes them. The set works like a standard press. We stop when the alarm sounds, we discharge. The compacted chips can then be delivered, along with, why not, the new Anderson bale aggregator trays, to the sawmill.
For grass, it is now possible to "sausage" freshly squeezed round-ballers. Two tools are available. The IFX 720 Xtractor inline wrapper for round bales, and the Hybrid X Xtractor capable of wrapping round and square bales. These 2 machines have a thermal engine which makes them independent in their operation. You put them down with your tractor, then feed them grass with a telescopic for example. There is no length limit in the creation of the sausage. Once made, all you have to do is "unwrap" the rounds one by one. Simple.
Purchase obligation?
Are you going to fall for this new pack from Giants Software? If you play mostly multiplayer, chances are this add-on will catch on quickly and you'll be pressured and forced to checkout to join other virtual farmers. PC / MAC, Xbox One and PS4 compatible from patch 1.3, and posted at € 9,99 on the official website, the Anderson group DLC is a model of its kind. We remember the Ropa DLC for FS 17, at € 7,99, which ultimately only brought hardware. Here are other doors that open since the gameplay around breeding is significantly improved.
