Since the announcement of mod support in Pure Farming, the developers have had a lot of questions via the official forum. Here is a compilation of some of those questions and answers.
Can you create your own maps and tools? In the video, we only show machines. The tools and the maps I think are very important. - DanHassler0, Reddit
Pure Farming: Allowing players to add their own machines to the game is the first step in our plans for modding tools. Listening to farming game players, we felt that an easy way to use custom machines was the top priority. What we do next with the modding tools depends on the players. [Editor's note: the development team confirmed to us that there will indeed be a tool for creating maps]
Will we be able to create mods for Pure Farming 2018 on PS4 too? @benjiboyboi, Instagram
PF: We are concerned that we may not be able to include the modding tools themselves on the consoles. Our goal is to choose the best mods on PC and port them to console as free DLC.
What file formats will the mod tool support? - Andrew Stanford, Facebook
PF: It supports FBX files, a standard format used in several 3D software packages.
Will the game have a multiplayer mode? - Winnetou, Steam Community
PF: Pure Farming 2018 is a single player game. It was designed to provide many hours of single player play across three main modes. But we know people want multiplayer, so we intend to start working on it after the game launches.
Can you add more brands to the game? - Cl4ptr3p, Reddit
PF: We get a lot of questions asking if we're going to add this or that brand to the game. The short answer is: we all talk to them. We will be releasing more machines after release and our goal will always be to have as many top brands as possible.
Is the "my first farm" mode a tutorial or a real "campaign" mode?
PF: We've talked about how “My First Farm” is handy for learning how to play, but it's also a full campaign, with story, side quests, XP to earn, and levels to achieve. It's hard to give an exact figure on how quickly players will work, but it will bring about forty hours of playtime.
Will the vehicle handling be corrected based on what I saw from the YouTube previews? - eXtremeAzure, Reddit
PF: Vehicle handling and camera control have really evolved since we sent the preview version. They have been modified and we will continue to work on it until the final release.
Have you made any changes to hired employees since the preview was created? - Dejoo, Reddit
PF: Worker AI is one area we're going to be focusing a lot on until release, to make it even more reliable and useful for gamers. Also, something you may not see in the preview is that you can have up to 5 workers at the same time on the large map of Montana.
Is there any planned seasons management, and how many DLCs do you plan to make for the first year after release? - Dejoo, Reddit
PF: It's a bit early to talk about DLC at the moment. We plan to support the game for a long time and will have detailed post-launch DLC information coming soon. There is no season management in Pure Farming.
Will the farmer take breaks to sleep? - KeltiaVikinga, Reddit
PF: Based on the feedback received we have added the option to stay overnight and you will find this option when approaching the farmer's house. But it's optional and you can work through the night if you choose.
Are there any built-in fertilization, manure or weed control systems? And if so, how do they work? - J3r3myKyle, Reddit
PF: Cultivating and fertilizing the fields will give you a higher yield. It also depends on the field class (soil quality), so a lower field class will need more fertilization to get a good result. You can use manure from your animals or you can buy fertilizer.
