Synology has announced the DS723+, a two-bay NAS server, with several improvements over its predecessor. Both bays can be used with 2" M.2,5 SSD storage, in addition to traditional 3,5" HDDs, allowing for up to 18TB of storage capacity per bay . The DS723+ is equipped with an AMD Ryzen R1600 as its processor and can accommodate up to 32 GB of DDR4 ECC RAM. It also has a PCIe Gen 3 x2 slot for a 10 Gigabit Ethernet network interface card. The DS723+ is equipped with a single 92mm fan at the rear which provides passive airflow into the chassis. The NAS server is simple to install and use. It retails for under €600 at major retailers and comes with a three-year warranty with the option to extend it up to five years.
