BeamNG spoils us. It's been 6 months since we had a major update on the ultimate driving simulation based on insane physics. Version 0.25 has just arrived and brings a considerable batch of improvements in terms of gameplay.
"It's Christmas in June!" announce the developers. "You surprise me Simone" adds Univers Simu. New demonic vehicle, new missions, garage mode, and as usual a host of gameplay improvements, the BeamNG.drive team is clearly not twiddling their thumbs.
The devil drives the Civetta Scintilla
The new thrill machine is called Civetta Scintilla, a modern supercar powered by a V10 engine ready to melt the asphalt. The Scintilla is the most advanced car in the game, and offers a very complex driving, a unique physical skeleton. The vehicle, refined, is clearly not to put in all hands. Its power ranges from 600 to 1800 HP!!! Driving behind the wheel for maximum precision is mandatory.
Its design is unique and the developers are really proud (and they can) of their work. So much so that they showcase their vehicles like a real car manufacturer, breaking the line between game and reality. The Civetta Scintilla has its own "commercial brochure" which you can download in PDF HERE.
Note that this sports car is equipped with the brand new fully customizable digital racing dashboard. It can equip other vehicles in the game.
A garage for your photos
Garage mode is getting a complete overhaul, and while it's still a work in progress, you can play it! Garage mode has its own dedicated UI. It allows you to take magnificent photos and test all the configurations on your vehicles before going to face the test track.
Missions bring a bit more gameplay
This is without doubt the pet peeve of BeamNG.drive. It's a real simulation, and sorely lacking in playful approach. Punctual missions on the cards already made it possible to set some objectives. The BeamNG team just added about XNUMX of them, of different types.
The campaign is also no longer linear, but branching: one mission can unlock several others, or you must complete more than one mission to unlock the next, like SnowRunner.
On the map side, the process of updating to PBR textures continues – road and terrain textures have been improved on all but three maps (Italy, West Coast, and Automation), and rocks have been improved on all cards except Automation.
Most of the circulation system has been redone. Traffic can now have roles (suspects, police and service vehicle). All traffic vehicles now track their own driving and pursuit data. Note that the activation of the traffic remains reserved for the owners of muscular PC, since it takes a maximum of hearts CPU to obtain a fluid circulation.
