Elden Ring, FromSoftware's GOTY 2022, has just been updated to version 1.09, which includes major improvements and readjustments for the gaming experience. The update is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. The standout feature of this update is Ray Tracing support, which has been added for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC versions.
Players can enable Ray Tracing in the settings menu. However, it is important to note that performance, such as refresh rate and resolution, may be impacted when Ray Tracing is enabled. The minimum and recommended technical specifications for using Ray Tracing are available at the end of the patch notes.

PvP-exclusive balance adjustments have also been made. These do not affect solo or co-op play. Some of the adjustments include decreasing the power of two-handed attacks and heavy running attacks, as well as decreasing the effectiveness of certain types of spells and skills.
The update also includes general balancing tweaks for weapons, talismans, and spells, including adding an invincibility window when resurrecting in the coliseum and increasing range and speed of certain attacks.
Finally, the update also fixes several bugs, including those that prevented certain status effects and attack types from being taken into account for certain weapons. Full patch notes can be found on the official Elden Ring website.
