Farming Simulator 22 is “RTX Ready”. The lucky owners of the latest generations of nVidia graphics cards will benefit from a noticeable increase in FPS thanks to DLSS technology and a sharper image thanks to DLAA. But what does that mean?
A long-time nVidia partner, Giants Software has enhanced the Giants Engine to support the latest technologies. Among them, DLSS and DLAA from nVidia. Under these barbaric names hide two methods of improving performance and image quality in general.
DLSS stands for Deep Learning Super Sampling, it is an artificial intelligence-based rendering technology that increases graphics performance using Tensor Core AI processors in GeForce RTX graphics cards. This technique renders images at a lower resolution than displayed, and an AI analyzes the image in real time to display the most important visible elements at full resolution. In use, the eye does not see the difference and the graphics card has a lower workload, which has the direct effect of increasing performance and FPS.
In Farming Simulator 22, it will therefore be possible to play in 4K, with a rendered image, internally in the graphics card, in 1080p or 1440p. Watch the video below in 4K, pause, and try to see the differences… good luck.
The other available technology is DLAA, for “Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing”, from Nvidia. This is a new method of anti-aliasing based on DLSS. An AI is working on improving aliasing at lower resolution. Full-resolution anti-aliasing is only applied to items that are truly visible to the player, not the entire scene. Again, performance gain, without degrading the quality for the eye of the player.
You don't need to have a 4K display (or higher) to enjoy it. DLSS / DLAA works even if you're playing FullHD, and you'll enjoy that FPS boost anyway.
