Paris Games Week was the scene of many surprises for the Farming Simulator League. Starting with the qualifying phases, where 2 teams, French moreover, did not show up (SterFamily and Les Cousins). So Claas and MyInsanity qualified for the Sunday finals as easily as possible.
The Saturday matches then proceeded normally. The only French team, Team Power, had to face the title holders. Despite having a hand in plaster and working entirely on the keyboard, Luk4s from the Trelleborg team was able to load enough balls into the barn to secure the victory. For these qualifications, the strategies developed were almost all identical with the exception of the BG Powered by Stark team which differentiated itself by working on the quantity of grain rather than on the production of balls. The strategy paid off and caused a few cold sweats for the other teams who were watching the match in the public.
Sunday's games promised to be tight with teams capable of looking for 800 points without any problem. The first big surprise of the day was the elimination by Grimme of Trelleborg in a match that was played by one ball and one second! Never has the tension been so palpable in an FSL match: 751 to 742. Grimme was determined to feed Trelleborg potatoes.
John Deere for his part had a well-established strategy that allowed the team to pulverize the 800 points. However, in the final against Krone, JD changed his strategy and struggled to score, leaving the field open for Krone who won in the 2 matches of the Best of 3.
John Deere however retains its 2nd place overall, 10 points ahead of Krone. Trelleborg has enough lead to cash this error of course and despite his absence from the tournament 2 weeks ago in Poland. The tournament at Agritechnica could be a game-changer. We can not wait to be there !
