Gamescom 2019: RTX Server Deployment Begins, GeForce NOW Comes to Smartphones

While the official and non-beta launch of GeForce NOW will be effective in the coming months, NVIDIA is today at an important stage: the RTX servers are now operational, and the Android mobile partnership is approaching.

Today at Gamescom, gamers in Germany will be the first to take advantage of GeForce RTX performance in the cloud. At the same time, NVIDIA will expand its data centers in North America and Europe, bringing about a new generation of cloud gaming. At the same time, Softbank and LG U + are preparing to launch GeForce NOW in Japan and Korea.

On display at Gamescon, GeForce NOW will soon be expanding its beta version on one of the world's most popular operating systems, Android - including LG and Samsung products.

Rising Above the Clouds: GeForce NOW Expands to Other Platforms

Cloud gaming has grown this year, with 30 million hours of gaming and more than 1000 games streamed from GeForce NOW servers.

Since NVIDIA launched the public beta of GeForce NOW, the brand has made it a point of honor to develop the best cloud gaming service, and while it is about to officially launch this service in the coming months for millions of players waiting to play on the cloud, NVIDIA is approaching important milestones.

Starting today, the brand is extending GeForce RTX graphics performance to the GFN network, initially at the data center in Frankfurt, Germany. The brand will also extend GeForce NOW to the Android mobile system, available later this year.

Partners and members of the GeForce NOW Alliance are developing their solution to launch GeForce NOW in their country. The initial partners, Softbank and LG U +, will first offer GeForce NOW in Japan and Korea.

RTX Performance in the Cloud

When GTC, earlier this year, NVIDIA announced the launch of RTX servers. From today, these same servers are deployed. Gamers in California and Germany will be the first to experience RTX performance. NVIDIA will expand its data centers in North America and Europe, bringing cloud gaming to a new generation.

2 billion screens to play

Already available in beta to the delight of a billion under-equipped computers that aren't made for gaming, GeForce NOW will soon be expanding to one of the world's most popular systems, Android phones, including including flagship devices from LG and Samsung.

When this service is available, NVIDIA recommends playing with a Bluetooth controller, such as the SHIELD controller, the Razer Raiju Mobile, the Steelseries Stratus Duo or GlapGamepad (in Korea), since some games may not be playable without a controller

A platform open to players, publishers and developers

The service connects to the most popular digital game stores, allowing gamers to take their game libraries with them. This includes new releases and hit titles such as Control (coming soon), Fallout 76, Fortnite, The Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, and World of Tanks. This will allow gamers to play the games they already own on all of their devices - PC, Mac, and SHIELD - and other platforms to come later this year.

The brand already supports more than 500 games, with compatibility for thousands more, and seeks to bring users even more games, even before they are officially part of the library.

Because games are purchased from digital stores, gamers can still download and play locally - a second purchase is not necessary to play them in the cloud with GeForce NOW. It also means that developers do not need to develop their games on a new platform, nor to offer a new business model to their publishers.

Play in the future today while preparing for tomorrow

Available today on MAC, PC and SHIELDTV, GeForce NOW creates a cloud gaming PC on non-gaming hardware.

GeForce NOW is the first gaming platform that gamers don't have to worry about upgrading, patching, or updating. All of this is done in the background, so players can always have access to their favorite games.

The end of the free trial period is coming to an end, which means that players who want to access it must request access quickly.
