For $ 349, the RTX 2060 offers amazing graphics with Raytracing and real-time AI for PC gamers. The card has been available since yesterday, January 15th.
Little sister of the RTX 2070, the RTX 2060 is 60% faster on current titles than the previous generation GTX 1060, one of NVIDIA's best-selling GPUs. With RT and Turing's Torsor cores, the card can run Battlefield V with raytracing at 60 frames per second. Needless to say that our Farmers, not using this technique, will run without flinching all details to the maximum.
“PC gamers demand high standards and the RTX 2060 sets a new standard: unbeatable price, extraordinary performance and real-time raytracing that blurs the line between movies and games. It's a great time for the players and our industry. Said Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA, which unveiled the RTX 2060 at the start of CES.
Turing architecture
The RTX 2060 includes a major multiprocessor streaming upgrade to more efficiently handle compute heavy workloads. It supports simultaneous execution of floating-point and integer operations, adaptive shading technology, and a new unified memory architecture with twice the cache memory of its predecessor. Recent games can see their performance doubled compared to the GTX 1060 GPU.
The RTX 2060 is equipped with 6 GB of GDDR6 memory and 240 Tensor cores can deliver 52 teraflops Deep Learning Power, which can improve gaming performance with a feature called Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS).
DLSS leverages a deep neural network to extract the multidimensional features of the rendered scene and intelligently combines the details of multiple images to create a high-quality final image. The result is a crisp, clear image with similar quality to traditional rendering, but with higher performance.
What about the farmers?
At the time of writing, neither Giants Software, yet an Nvidia partner, nor IceFlames, whose game runs on Unity, has commented on the release of this graphics card. No communication has been made on Raytracing since the release of the RTX series. The question is put to them. On the side of Giants Software, we are told "never say never".
