It can sometimes be interesting to have several cameras on your mod especially if like me, you do video editing. In this article, we will explain how to install a GoPro type camera on your vehicles. For a more realistic rendering, we will accompany these cameras with a 3D model with the look of GoPro.
As a video is simpler than a text, we advise you to follow the step by step on Youtube just above.
- Download the file containing the GoPro .i3D.
- Unzip the mod on which you plan to install the GoPro.
- Move the GoPro folder that you downloaded in point 1 in the mods folder that you unzip in point 2. (video 00:30)
- Open the .i3D of your mod. (video 00:35)
- Once you have the mod in front of you, click on "file" and then "import" (video 01:05)
- A window of your file explorer will open. In this explorer, you must find the GOPRO folder that you moved in point 3. Once you have found it, double-click on it. You will find a “Textures” and “GOPRO.i3D” folder. Double click on GOPro. (video 01:08)
- We imported the GoPro. Now we need to integrate it into the mod. To do this click on Gopro in the Scenegraph. (If the Scenegraph window is not visible, click on Window then Scenegraph), do CTRL X; then click on the folder that lists all your mod and do CTRL V. (video 01:13)
- Your camera is now in your mod, we are going to place it in the right place on the mod. To do this, click on Gopro in the scenegraph and place your camera with the arrows. First, move the camera around in the mod until the suction cup is placed in its final location. Once the suction cup is placed, expand the Gopro tab in the scenegraph and click on transform. Thanks to the Blue rotation axis you can easily rotate the camera without the suction cup leaving the wall. (video 01:26)
- Open your mod's .xml, often it has the same name as your .i3D. (video 02:24)
- Scroll down to the bottom of the file and add the following line just before the end tag named " »(Video 3:02). Line to copy:
- We have to complete “node = XXX”, for that go back to Giants Editor, click on “GOProcamera” to find it, expand gopro, and then transform. Be sure to open the attributes window via window. Once your window is open and "GOProcamera" is selected, look at the patch index (in the example 0> 2 | 0 | 1) Once found, copy and paste it in place of the xxxxx. (video 02:51).
Node not completed:
Node complete: 3 | 0 | 2 ″ /> - Go back to the .xml, CTRL F and search for " ". Add the line below just above the end of cameras tag (video 03:11). Link to copy:
You have the option to move the ingame camera on you replace rotatable = "false" by rotatable = "true". By default, we will leave it fixed.
