Giants Software has just published on the Farming Simulator 19 modhub, a reissue of the JCB 435S wheel loader from the previous opus. A good idea ?
JCB fans, close your eyes, cover your ears. The JCB 435S monster is back, but not necessarily as we would have hoped. The modhub shows a reissue of version 17, without even improving it. This would be Giants Software's new strategy to convince gamers to switch to FS 19? Use the "new" Giants Engine to put a little dust in your eyes? You might believe it when you see the number of gear simply reinstated in the latest version of the game. And this JCB 435S is no exception. Perfectible modeling, fuzzy textures, an interior from the 2013 vintage (the tractor eh, not the game). All of this could have gone unnoticed if Farming Simulator were the only farming simulation on the market.
But it is not. At the start of the year, the Polish studio IceFlames released Pure Farming 2018, and offered JCB 435S (free) DLC shortly after. And the quality is there and Giants Software should have taken that into account before launching such a model. If the JCB Fastrac range did significantly better than the competition, this loader on the other hand levels the quality of Farming Simulator 19 machines from the bottom.
The feedback from players via our Facebook page was immediate. Dissatisfaction with the bugs first, and then with the models. Many virtual farmers find that apart from the rendering offered by the revisions of the graphics engine, vehicles follow and look too similar since FS 15.
