Rhythm, heavy metal, Celtic music, Vikings and transpi, this is what the crazy virtual reality track from WanadevStudio released in mid-June 2021.
You all know Guitar Hero, this crazy song where you had to "hit" (yes it was always a bit violent ...) the right keys of the pad or the guitar at the right time while the "musical notes" scrolled through the screen. The concept lasted from the PS2 generation until today. And in virtual reality, it has declined to a little more sporting games like Beat Saber where you have to hit cubes with lightsabers, always in the rhythm. This last title has also become an almost essential reference for all VR headset owners. But he could well be dethroned.
Vive la France!
Celtic rock and power metal must have resonated in the streets of Lyon, since the Wanadev studio has just released RagnaRock: a drakkar, vikings on the oars, and you on the drums to set the rhythm, a sledgehammer in each hand. The more you keep up, the more your ship will move forward. The distance at the end of the song will determine your ranking and your medal, bronze, silver or gold.
The gameplay is simple, with several levels of difficulty (speed of the scores), and the VR gives a unique dimension. Moreover, without VR, the recipe would probably not have worked. A single player mode will allow you to train but it is the multiplayer up to 6 that will make you sweat, as much by your movements as by the stress of seeing a competing boat overtake you.
The proposed playlist is simply top notch, catchy and rarely calm. And if you end up getting bored, the Steam sheet specifies that it is possible to add your own songs, but we have not yet tested this possibility.
