Whether we like them or not production lines will be present on FS 22. It will be for the player to go further with products directly from the farm. The wheat will be used, for example, to make flour, which will be used to make bread, which will be supplied to local supermarkets. The possibilities are endless once the modding community gets their teeth into it. The farmcon was the opportunity for Giants Software to show a little more about the management of these productions.
Quality manager Ken Burgess and Gameplay programmer Marius Hofmann presented this new feature of Farming Simulator 22: production lines.
The example of the mill and the flour
Take the grain mill, for example: it's not just a place to sell your wheat now. It is a full-fledged production plant in which you will process your grains. This mill, you can go there if it is present on the map, or place it via the library of placeable buildings.
With the new management interface, you will be able to control the flour production of the mill. You are free to stop there and sell or store the flour. Or you can deliver it to the bakery to produce bread or cakes. But pastries aren't just flour. And it will take other foods as a starter to get your strawberry pies out. Yes you read that right: strawberries, as well as other greenhouse crops, will be featured on FS 22. Just follow the recipe.
This fairly complex production chain requires you to deliver a lot of ingredients that must first be produced and harvested. Butter for example, which you will have to produce at the dairy by delivering fresh milk. Maybe you will just start with bread to see how the hand is done. But very quickly you will be able to bake delicious cakes like this:
The factory also manages the marketing if necessary
After production, you will have several options. Either the production plant sells the product automatically and takes its commission, or it generates a pallet that you can deliver yourself. In most cases, you will have the choice of where the merchandise is sold: supermarket or farmer's market, for example.
As a real businessman, you will have to manage production flows and capacities. Not enough flour? Why not build a second mill? Unless you would prefer to have a friend support you in multiplayer mode? Cooperation is good.
So much to say!
We noted so much information while chatting with the developers that it would be best to get together live Saturday at 14 p.m. on our Youtube channel. And I promise, we'll tell you EVERYTHING.
