Attention, sensitive subject. Since its release, SnowRunner has been in the spotlight for its many qualities but also, unfortunately, for its flaws. Since its release, not a week has gone by without an update. Despite this, many players still lose their save for no reason or get stuck on a mission with items roaming the air. In short, all is not rosy.
Today's update 4.1 fixes many of these early days issues. The developers are also now putting version 5 in beta test, still for PC players. We will describe the handling to follow if you are not satisfied with update 4.1, and you want to take the plunge to test the future version 5.
But first, what does this update 5 bring?
Here are the new features of this update: a new map (Rift) for the Taymyr environment, 2 vehicle skins (Derry Longhorn 3194, KHAN Lo4F), Flycam on mod maps, multiple save locations (FINALLY!), Display of a counter of installed mods, adjustment of force feedback, and finally in multiplayer, players can now play in different regions in co-op.
To access it, simply relaunch the Epic Games Store client for a new SnowRunner to appear (see screenshot below). If you install it, it will create a second version of the game in which you don't have any saves. To recover your progress in this new installation, you must copy the contents of the directory C: \ Users \ username \ Documents \ My Games \ SnowRunner \ base \ storage \ backupSlots \ to the new C: \ Users \ username \ Documents \ My Games \ SnowRunnerBeta \ base \ storage \
Once this is done, the Epic Games Store will ask you which save to use between the local and the cloud. You will need to choose the locale.
