We did not take the time to write a review of the final version of Cattle and Crops, and for good reason, it is a simple continuity in the development of the previous versions. Also you can read all the articles that have already been published. The game continues to improve and will benefit from an economic difficulty update this October 30.
In addition to many smaller fixes and improvements, this 1.0.2.6 update brings an overhaul of selling prices and income. A fourth level of selling difficulty has been added: realistic. At this level, all sales prices and products have very realistic values.
Additionally, the prices of the balls have been significantly reduced and have been given their own difficulty multipliers (easy: 3 / medium: 2,25 / hard: 1,5 / actual: 1). Grass silage bales (excluding hay) are now worth next to nothing.
Biogas: do your math!
The biogas plant has undergone a thorough overhaul and now uses much more realistic data as the basis for calculating income. On the one hand, ensiled fruit types now produce more real (i.e. lower) amounts of biogas, on the other hand, methane prices have been adjusted. The energy produced has been divided into electrical and thermal energy, with different prices. One kWhel gives a base price of 0,143 €, one kWhth gives a base price of 0,03 € (prices are slightly higher in winter and slightly lower in summer). The BGP control display has been adjusted accordingly.
In addition, the BGA received its own prize multiplier: (easy: 5 / medium: 3,5 / difficult: 2 / realistic: 1).
Note: there is now a 20 day fermentation period, which means that the money generated by the silage loaded into the bunker - resp. methane gas generated - is only paid after this period.
With BGP and grain price changes, it is no longer profitable to buy grain and offload it directly to BGP.
Some examples of calculation
BGA silos have a capacity of approx. 5 m³. This corresponds to approx. 800 ha of corn crops. If you completely fill the silos during a season, you get approx. (less personnel and machinery costs):
- Actual: 55.200 €
- Difficult: 110.400 €
- Average: 193.200 €
- Easy: 276.000 €
The same area planted with barley gives (threshed, i.e. with much less labor and time required) approximately:
- Actual: 18.000 €
- Difficult: 54.100 €
- Average: 99.300 €
- Easy: 144.400 €
In addition to this in-game difficulty upgrade, 2 vehicles benefit from the addition of a rear and unloading camera: the Claas Jaguar and Tucano.
