Matt Newell, artist and independent developer on Unreal Engine, will offer this year a photography simulation in which you will walk, walk and walk again, in the middle of nature. It's not Hiking Simulator but it looks like it. Joking aside, the experience uses the Unreal Engine to get the most photorealistic scenery possible. The latest demo, Le Praprion, teleports us to the Alps, to Chamonix.
What to do in the game
You find yourself in plain nature, with your camera and will have to find points to… take a picture. Kinds of orientation tables are arranged in certain places, on which you will find clues. The map unlocks as your shots are taken. Some objects are to be recovered, such as a lamp to see there at night, or a bicycle to travel the trails a little faster. Calm and relaxing, several hours will be displayed on the counter before you overcome a single environment, because, as it stands, the game does not guide you. This is also, we hope, a track of improvement for the final version: better ergonomics.
If you have the necessary equipment – needless to say that the game will not run on a PC that is too old – go to the Steam page to add this simulation to your wishlist. Expected release later this year. Ha, and, icing on the cake, it will be VR compatible.
