It's the big day! The moment long awaited by the gaming community. Giants Software formalizes the title and the coming of a new Farming Simulator opus. The date is well chosen, 22, and the teasing done around the lifting of the veil will have kept us all in suspense.
In a trailer of a few seconds, Giants Software unveils THE great novelty of this Farming Simulator 22: the Seasons mode finally integrated as a base. But that's not all, and this announcement is accompanied by some screenshots that let slip several pieces of information.
Here are the first screenshots of FS 22
Concretely what do we see ...
The seasons are now integrated, in the manner, visually speaking, of the mod proposed by Realismus Modding. No information concerning the integration and the possible deactivation was communicated.
We will be entitled to new equipment, more than 400 machines and tools announced, including the forage harvester Fendt Katana 650, the harvester New Holland CH770, John Deere 9R, And a Massey Ferguson 8S straight out of the factory.
All vehicles are equipped with numberplate and GPS. It's a safe bet that the latter is integrated from the base, without having any information on its use.
The soil textures have evolved. The stubble now appear to be mixed with the soil when the stubble cultivator is used. It was time ! New crops are announced, without knowing which ones, but we can already see that the aspect of corn to change. The screenshots were taken on a new version of Erlengrat. The map will not be alone and 2 new ones will accompany it. For the moment, the ground does not seem to be deformed under the wheels and the weight of the machines.
The game will make it possible to have "several kinds of agricultural activities" according to the developers. Will we finally have the culture of the vine?
Sound is also in the spotlight, with more variation in tone over engine speeds and load efforts.
On the technical side, the game will be released on all platforms !!! PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, PC, Mac (M1?) And Stadia! A tour de force from Giants Software which can only change the graphics part of the Giants Engine, which goes to version 9 for the occasion.
DirectX 12 compatible, this evolution of the Farming Simulator engine brings better management of resources (optimization of multithreading, streaming of textures, elimination of hidden objects and state-of-the-art anti-aliasing) and offers a performance boost on all systems.
Visually, as a whole, the game has changed very little, a boon for modders since the specifications will be very close between FS 19 and FS 22.
A release date for Farming Simulator 22?
The name being unveiled, we can expect a release for the 4th quarter of 2021 in order to remain consistent with the other episodes. In view of the evolutions, we can base ourselves on a starting signal at the beginning of November 2021.
Who will be on the cover?
The question remains open. Which major manufacturer will be headlining the Farming Simulator 22 boxes? Kubota? Deutz?
