Mars Flight VR is a helicopter simulator that lets you explore Jezero Crater, the landing site of the Perseverance rover on Mars. This is a seated VR experience that requires a gamepad to play.
Vendu nearly 17 euros on Steam, the "game" includes races and photography missions with Steam leaderboards. The experience is not really convincing. The FPV view of the Martian drone quickly turns heads, and we prefer a 3rd person view. The feeling of piloting is too similar to terrestrial and non-Martian conditions (atmosphere, wind, gravity…). The autonomy of the rover is in principle only a few seconds, but the game offers an unlimited flight time that allows you to enjoy the scenery and read the informative panels that give real indications on the scene. A good point also for the feeling, sometimes frightening, of being alone in the world in a lifeless desert. What to imagine what life will give on Mars in a few decades. Too bad this VR experience is a bit expensive for the content offered.
