When Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft has offered an explosive teaser to introduce us to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the long-awaited sequel to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. This announcement has caused a real revolution within the flight simulator community, and naturally, a multitude of questions have arisen concerning this new opus.
Microsoft has answered these questions on the Microsoft Flight Simulator website by providing more detailed information about MSFS 2024.
The first question Microsoft answered was whether Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 would be a simple paid update for existing users or if it would be a standalone sequel. MSFS2024 will indeed be a standalone game and not just a 2020 expansion. All aircraft and airports present in MSFS2020, as well as almost all extensions available on the Marketplace, will be supported in MSFS2024.
The second question Microsoft answered was about what support current MSFS2020 players will be able to get after the launch of MSFS2024. Microsoft has affirmed that they will continue to provide support for MSFS2020 after the launch of MSFS2024 and that they will also continue their roadmap for MSFS2020, which will include updates to planes, cities and worlds, as well as the Free Dune DLC.
The third question related to purchases made on the Marketplace and their transferability. Microsoft claims that with few exceptions, virtually all extensions that currently work in MSFS2020 will continue to be usable in MSFS2024. Extensions purchased on the Simulator Marketplace won't need to be redeemed in MSFS2024.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is therefore shaping up to be a breathtaking aerial experience. Get ready for an unforgettable aerial adventure in this new iteration of Microsoft's iconic franchise!
