A new update, 0.19, for BeamNG.drive is coming to Steam. Not to change the recipe, there are new vehicles, maps and game engine optimizations.
The launch of the Cherrier FCV platform with the Vivace and Tograc models is the headliner of this version. Cherrier is a new manufacturer in the BeamNG.drive universe offering vehicles with aggressive lines. An electric version of the Vivace and Tograc is available, with the FCV platform designed to support both traditional and electric transmissions from the start.
As far as maps are concerned, the developers are continuing the project to renovate existing maps and also publish “Small Island”. This map has undergone a major overhaul to better harmonize its appearance. With the reconstructed port, research station and helipad, BeamNG introduces more points of interest to exploit. The road layouts have been adjusted for better handling and new off-road trails have been added. Small Island might not be the biggest map in the game, but now it offers great reasons to go browse it.
In another area, the ambient sound system has been improved. The directionality of the sounds is better. Those of you who continue to drive cars through water in the hope that it will someday function as submarines will be happy to know that BeamNG.drive now has an underwater soundtrack. The vehicles team has worked hard not only on the Cherrier FCV platform vehicles, but also on the remastering of some older vehicles, including a remaster on the Gavril Roamer, D and H series.
