MOZA TSW STEERING WHEEL TEST: Dominate the Road with your heavyweight!

Do you want to know more about the Moza TSW (Truck Sim Wheel), dedicated to heavy goods vehicle simulations? You are in the right place ! The steering wheel being sold alone, I will take advantage of this article/video to present to you a complete bundle including the SR-P pedals, the R9 motor base and the Truck Mount Bracket tilt support.

Unboxing

I carried out a complete unboxing with assembly and first connection to the PC, which you can find in the video above. It's a bit long, but you will have a real insight into the quality of the product, because yes, the time when we said “Made in china” to designate low-end products seems to be a thing of the past, and Chinese manufacturers are perhaps capable of the worst in certain cases, but in this case, above all the best.

4 products for a complete kit

We will talk about 4 products in the test video:

The first product is the SR-P pedals. It's actually a kit, to assemble yourself. There is the brake pedal, accelerator pedal, and the support plate. As an option for purchase, you can add the clutch pedal.

The second product in this set is the base engine, here the R9, for 9 Nm of torque. At Moza, there are faster engines, but for heavy goods vehicles, it is more than sufficient. Power is still needed, because with the large diameter of the TSW flywheel, the lever arm is so large that, if the engine is weak, you will not feel the force feedback. The R9, which was recommended to me by Moza, is a really good choice for use, I have to admit.

What can I say on this basis, other than that it's high-end direct drive, that everything is made of aluminum, that it weighs 6 kg, that it hardly heats up, and that its precision is formidable. The R9 base acts as a hub, so you can connect pedals, handbrake and power supply to it, even if an external hub sold for around fifty euros is also sold by Moza.

Let's talk about what interests us here, namely the truck and bus driving part. And to do this, in addition to the steering wheel, we will use a 75° tilting base, which costs around fifty euros and which can be added to the basket as an option when purchasing the TSW steering wheel.

The centerpiece of this set is of course the Moza TSW steering wheel. How can I tell you how Moza has set the bar as high as possible. 40 cm in diameter, an aluminum frame, a quick attachment system, pre-configured controls, a complete set of stickers to further personalize your experience depending on the vehicle piloted. And above all top quality materials, starting with the leather covering with quality stitching. It's simple, it feels like the steering wheel of a high-end car. The handling is crazy and the driving experience is totally WTF.

Since this kit has been at home, the pleasure and the feeling of driving have been so crazy, that it's the steering wheel that makes me want to play ETS 2. I'm rediscovering all the games. While driving the bus, I remember the driver who took me to college who made 10 turns of the wheel to squeeze through the narrow streets of the country villages. Here it's the same, I'm learning to drive again. You still have to have the right games. And that’s where we’re going to start talking about software. Moza offers a home software, Moza Pit House, very ergonomic, which allows the precise adjustment of all the manufacturer's peripherals in one place. It also allows firmware upgrades. Moza Pit House is a model of its kind and other equipment manufacturers should learn from it.

  1. Hello, I want to get this steering wheel because I play a lot of simulation games but really hesitate between the R9 or R12 base ^^
