Barely 36 hours after its launch, the Xiaomi SU7, the brand's first electric car, is already out of stock. Demand for this vehicle was so strong that all available units were ordered, totaling nearly 120 sales.
Xiaomi recently unveiled its electric sedan, the SU7, at a conference in China, generating excitement with its impressive technical specifications and competitive pricing. The basic version is sold at 27 euros (640 euros less than the Chinese Tesla Model 4000), while the Pro and Max versions are available at 3 euros and 31 euros respectively, a difference of more than 480 euros compared to a Porsche Taycan.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed that the cars were sold at a loss to achieve these attractive prices, reflecting the company's aggressive strategy in the automobile market.
The question now is when orders will be open again, and whether competitive pricing will be maintained or adjustments made in the future. Although the car is currently limited to China, Xiaomi hints that it could eventually be available in Europe, which could put pressure on prices in the sector and cause competitors, like Tesla, to rethink their strategy.
