This is a long time project for the modder. Oxygendavid told us about Calmsden in June 2021 while testing dynamic terrain on FS 19. Creating a map is a very long process, and Calmsden didn't arrive in time for the previous installment. It was therefore on Farming Simulator 22 that it was intended. And it's D-Day for all players, PC and consoles.
Calmsden is an FS 22 map based on real data, specifically Gloucestershire in the UK. Besides, the PDA is a real satellite view. If you wanted a change from the base maps of FS 22, you'll be served. Direction England, with, to begin with, driving on the left. Oxygendavid was fast, only 2 months were needed to convert and use the few new features of the game: parralax occlusion mapping, seasons (with a multitude of objects that disappear in winter, such as barbecues, etc.), objects to collecting, British registrations… But the modder is not known to stop there. Also it is textures and especially personalized lighting that change the look of the game quite frankly.
On the decor side, Calmsden is a map with a soft but present relief with plots – we like it or not – lined with low walls and hedges. The farms are open air and your pigs will be entitled, like your cows, to pasture very largely in accordance with the rules of animal welfare. The functionalities are on the other hand those of the game, and no addition other than aesthetics has been grafted to Farming Simulator 22. At the same time, it is a card compatible with PC, consoles and therefore Crossplay, so it is impossible add scripts to it. With more than 50 new 3D models, Calmsden has this little English cachet which clearly differentiates it from Elmcreek, Erlengrat and Haut-Beyleron.
