Forza Motorsport will be an artificial intelligence simulation for an unparalleled gaming experience. The new machine learning-based AI promises to remove the "rubber-banding" problem commonly seen in car racing games.
The Forza Motorsport game, announced in a trailer in June, will be available on October 10, 2023 on Xbox Series X|S, Windows 10 and 11 PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam, and will be included in Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass and Cloud Gaming. For impatient fans, a pre-order of the Premium Edition offers early access starting October 5.
The flagship cars of this edition are the 01 Cadillac Racing V-Series.R #2023 and the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray, both innovative and state-of-the-art models from General Motors. More than 500 other cars will be available at launch, as well as 20 circuits from around the world, including 5 completely new to the Motorsport license.
AI comes into play
The weather and time of day will dynamically change, with bustling crowds and tracks reacting to changing weather conditions. The game will feature a new single-player campaign, the Builders Cup Career Mode, where advanced AI will provide new challenges. Forza Motorsport will also include cooperative and competitive online multiplayer modes, including a new mode inspired by real-world competitions.
Forza Motorsport's launch event revealed gameplay clips, showcasing the evolution of the Drivatar system, the game's driving AI. Creative Director Chris Esaki pointed out that the system Drivatar will no longer mimic player behavior, but rely on machine learning techniques.
By eliminating cheats of the type " rubber banding seen in Forza Horizon 5 and other racing games, this new AI revolutionizes the realistic driving experience offered by the Forza Motorsport series.
