Aerosoft and HR Innoways, to whom we owe Winter Resort Simulator and the less glorious Alpine The Simulation Game, begin communication on the studio's next title: Subway Sim.
Subway Sim, which was hinted at at this year's Next Sim event, is a title that will allow players to explore Hamburg's U3 railway line. The game promises to display accurately recreated stations and animated backdrops. It is the Unreal Engine in its latest version, 5, which is used here. In development, Subway Sim is expected for the first half of 2023.
In 15 min video published on SimNext, a channel from the publisher Aerosoft, Maximilian Rudorfer, CEO of HR Innoways, answers questions from Fabian Boulegue, producer.
The introduction shows the environment. A 20,7 km long route with 25 stations awaits you in the city of Hamburg. This trailer with epic music unfortunately does not show any phase of the game. And this was already the criticism that we could have made during the Next Sim event. In the end, nothing new compared to the Steam sheet already published. Except that the gameplay will alternate between underground and surface, and that 2 game modes are planned, a "free mode" and a "time mode" in which you have to clock in on time at the stations. For now, only PC players will be able to enjoy this simulation. The rest of the video is just an enumeration of the stations that the player will encounter… This gives us a good leg up.
The metro, a DT5, is a modern train in which you will have to play with the touch screen rather than levers and buttons. The developers announce that a dedicated video will arrive in “a few months”. The livery will be customizable via a paint tool.
